Open guideHow are PFM layers arranged?
- Opaque covers the metal framework. A thin opaque-dentine layer adds optical depth; dentine builds the tooth body, which is covered with incisal material.
- Individual layering uses modifiers, mamelons and transpa materials for internal structure, followed by incisal and opal materials as described in the guide.
Stains and glaze in the PFM workflow
- After surface finishing and cleaning, SPECTRA shades & stains LFU provide colour characterisation, while a thin LFU glaze layer provides the gloss finish.
- Use the PFM firing chart for the corresponding material programme; do not transfer a firing programme between systems.

The ingot and plunger at pressing

Daily care for B-350 and BL-500
- Switch off and unplug before care. Remove dust from the controller and handpiece exterior without letting liquid or debris enter.
- Do not add oil or water to the handpiece or immerse it. Store dry, protected from impact, with a suitable bur or test pin secured in the closed chuck.
- The BL-500’s brushless motor does not make bearings, the collet or cables maintenance-free. Internal service belongs with a qualified technician using the model-specific instructions.
Noise, vibration or heat
- Stop and check that the instrument is secure and undamaged. If noise or vibration persists, or unusual heat develops, disconnect the unit and arrange inspection rather than continuing under load.
- Send support the unit and handpiece model and a fault description. Consult the matching troubleshooting section before selecting a replacement part.
